Floating floors consist of a slab (generally made of concrete), which must be completely desolated from any point of the structure of the premises, using elastic materials, therefore, we must take into account both the support surface of the entire floor and the perimeter or encounters with the vertical walls. Generally, the function of floating floors is to provide impact noise insulation or impact noise improvement, expressed as: ΔLw (dB), although in many cases, the airborne noise insulation they provide is also important. Floating floors can be made (depending on the required performance) with anti-impact sheets or with shock absorbers. Flexyren continuous sheet floors are usually proposed for performances of up to approximately 30 ΔLw (dB), since for higher performances, the sheets are relatively thick.
